PRIVACY
Collect less and explain why
How BTCVisual currently handles visit data, interaction state, and external links.
No account required
Reading pages and using experiments requires no registration, login, or wallet address. The site will never ask for a seed phrase, private key, or exchange credentials.
Interactions run locally
Hashing, tampering, teaching mining, propagation, and disposable signatures run in the browser. Ordinary input is not uploaded for computation. Never enter passwords, private keys, seed phrases, or secrets. Teaching mining runs only after Start and has stop and computation limits.
Local learning progress
Completed checks are saved in this browser’s localStorage (btcvisual.learning.v1), without an account or experiment text. Reset progress on the learning path page or clear the browser’s site data. If storage is blocked, progress may last only for the current page session.
What a shared link contains
Only when you click Copy experiment link do the current teaching text, difficulty, or node state enter the URL. Anyone with the link can read them. Opening the URL may also put its parameters into hosting access logs. Share only non-sensitive teaching examples.
Basic visit measurement
We may add privacy-conscious analytics to understand usability, not advertising profiles. If enabled, this page will name the service, data types, retention period, and opt-out method. The current page contains no advertising tracker.
External sources
Knowledge pages link to primary material on sites such as Bitcoin.org and GitHub. Those destinations apply their own privacy policies after you leave BTCVisual.
